Fixing

The fixing system is supplied by CLADMATE. All the fixings must be S4 stainless steel. The fixing system consists of aluminum support brackets, thermal isolator pads, and bracket/wall screws.

Vertical Spacer

Brick spacers are 86mm length stainless/aluminium cross clips that are inserted between bricks to generate 10mm vertical mortar joint.

Pointing Mortar

CMS40 MF Slip system uses Terrabond T-Point pointing mortar which has excellent adhesion, sealing and movement accommodation properties.

Rail System weight is app. 4.48kg/m².TERRABOND T-Point Pointing mortar weight app. 5kg/m². System weight approximately 51.5kg/m². The average thermal conductivity (K Value) for clay brick slips is 0.71W/mK.

We guarantee to provide suitable support compenents to a variety of claddingapplications, no matter the complexity of design.

Installation

Our Technical team are hands on and ready to assist you from start to finish. All installation must be according to CLADMATE design and specifications.

Step 1 – Design and Setting out

Our dedicated technical team will assist your project and provide the specification. Generic detail drawings are provided in PDF and AutoCAD forms.

Application of Breather Membrane

Step 2 – Application of Breather Membrane

Breather Membrane should be applied to the substrate surface, as per manufactures recommendations.

Bracket Support

Step 3 – Bracket Support

Place each of the Aluminium Fortis support brackets with their thermal isolator in their specified location. Securely fix the Aluminium support brackets to the substrate, using the specified primary fixing.

Step 7 – Applying Pointing Mortar

Step 4 – Installation of Vertical Rail

Vertical rails to be secured between support brackets using self drill screw. Centres dependant on design. Install Terrawool Rainclad insulation between the rails.

Step-5-–-Horizontal-Rails

Step 5 – Horizontal Rails

Horizontal rails are to be installed at internals depending on the design and secured using provided fixings back to vertical rails.

Step-6-Installation

Step 6 – Brick Slip Installation

Seperate each brick using the provided brick spacer to create a vertical joint and act as the backing for the mortar. Slot brick slips into place, guided by horizontal rails.

Bracket Support

Step 7 – Applying Pointing Mortar

Apply Terrabond T-Point pointing mortar using pointing gun,
between all 10mm joints.

After Installation

Maintenance

The CLADMATE CMS40 MF Slip system requires little or no maintenance. Check mortar pointing at 5year intervals as part of a maintenance review. Refer to CLADMATE technical team for guidance on specific topics if required..

Repair

In the unlikely event of damaged or broken brick slips, they can be easily replaced by carefully removing mortar pointing around the slip lifting it upwards to free the bottom from the support rail, and sliding it out base first. Damage to the horizontal supporting rails may require the removal of a section of slips to remediate. Unbroken slips may be able to be reused.

Sustainability

MF Slip support system utilises Aluminium as its primary component and as such is fully recycable. Bricks used in conjuction with CMS40 MF Slip systems can be used in a multitude of ways when recycled. Aluminium and Bricks are widely recycable throughout the world and meet with many current building sustainability targets.
